Job Description
Grassroots Associate | Door-to-Door Canvassing | Iowa Work with Americans for Prosperity (AFP) as a Grassroots Associate in Iowa. Engage voters, recruit volunteers, and advance public policy through door-to-door canvassing in support of limited government, pro-freedom initiatives. We believe concerned citizens are stronger when we join together to drive change. Role Overview As a Grassroots Associate, you will engage voters on critical public policy and political issues—such as protecting individual liberty and freedom—through door-to-door grassroots canvassing efforts in your neighborhood. This is a temporary, part-time contracted position working with AFP teams through Canvass America, the third-party employer for this position. How You Will Contribute Engage in door-to-door canvassing , discussing AFP's policy and political agenda with voters. Provide logistical support for AFP's grassroots organizing, door-to-door campaigns, and community engagement initiatives . Share feedback with AFP staff regarding survey responses and messaging effectiveness. What You Will Need A strong commitment to AFP's mission to advance public policies that help reignite the American Dream. Excellent communication skills and the ability to discuss challenging public policy ideas openly and respectfully. Ability to walk 2-4 miles per day, climb a flight of stairs (reasonable accommodation available) and spend a significant amount of time outdoors in various weather conditions. Availability to complete 20 hours per week. Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check. Standout Candidates Will Also Have experience in grassroots organizing, community engagement, door-to-door sales, and/or political campaigns .
