Field Organizer Gabe Vasquez for Congress About Gabe Vasquez for Congress New Mexico's second congressional district is once again a top frontline district and will be key to winning back the House in November of 2026. Congressman Gabe Vasquez is the only Democrat to win New Mexico's second congressional district two consecutive cycles and one of a few Democrats that outperformed Donald Trump in 2024. NM-02 spans the bottom half of New Mexico, including 180 miles of border, and reaches up to southern and western regions of Albuquerque. The district is vast, comparable to the entire state of Pennsylvania, with many conservative-leaning voters. The fight for NM-02 is a microcosm of all the issues Democrats are struggling with on the national stage- from winning back Latino voters to creating meaningful rural engagement programs. The Gabe Vasquez for Congress team is a group of high-energy and seasoned political operatives relentlessly focused on delivering a historic third win in NM-02. About the Role Gabe Vasquez for Congress is seeking Organizers to help execute our organizing plans for the 2026 election. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a volunteer or staff on a political, issue, or advocacy campaign and strong communication skills. This is a full-time, in-person role based in New Mexico with a salary range of $5,000 - $6,500/mo, commensurate with experience. This position reports directly to the Organizing Director and works in close collaboration with other staff in executing their duties and supporting the day-to-day operations of the campaign. Applicants must have the ability to travel to events and meetings across New Mexico's second congressional district and must have a valid driver's license. This is a cycle position, expected to end in November 2026.

Responsibilities Include:

Recruit and train volunteers to conduct direct voter contact. Coordinate volunteer events that connect with voters in a meaningful way and grow our team of core volunteers and supporters. Utilize a number of tactics and tools to hit daily and weekly metric goals including but not limited to phone recruitment, texting, high-traffic canvassing, canvassing and tabling. Work closely with existing and new volunteer leaders to develop long-lasting organizing strength across the district. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications Include:

Willingness to work across the district. Willingness to work long hours and weekends when necessary, especially close to Election Day. Flexible, adaptable and solutions-oriented working style. Must have access to a cell phone, vehicle and ability to relocate if necessary. Previous campaign experience as staff or volunteer is a plus. Local ties and experience organizing core communities is a plus. Experience using VoteBuilder and MiniVAN is a plus. Spanish language fluency is a plus.
