Join us for door-to-door canvassing in the Lehigh Valley! Pennsylvania is ground zero for the fight for a more just economy.
UNITE HERE
is looking for students, recent graduates, and working-class people interested in learning the skills necessary to organize and fight for economic justice, fairer workplaces, and a multiracial democracy. Community Canvassing with
UNITE HERE
is a hands-on learning experience.
Canvassers will:
Have organizing conversations with local community members and build coalitions with other groups to fight for the Pennsylvania we deserve Learn how to have deep organizing conversations about the things that matter to you and your community Get involved in the movement to build worker power in Eastern and North-Eastern PA. Qualifications:
The canvasser position is an entry-level position. No experience with canvassing is necessary. Successful applicants, however, will have the following characteristics: Punctual and reliable Good communication skills Outgoing personality - enjoys meeting and talking to people Energetic and enthusiastic Committed to advancing immigrants' rights, renters' rights, and workers' rights Interested in/passionate about voting and civic participation
Terms of Employment:
The Community Canvasser position is a full-time position The Community Canvasser position is a temporary position Applicants will also be eligible for future positions Canvassers with interest and demonstrated capacity will also have the opportunity for promotion to leadership positions on our canvass team. Pay:
$20.00 per hour.
Schedule:
Our current canvass schedule is as follows (all times are subject to change):
Tuesday-Saturday:
11 am - 7 pm with a 1-hr lunch break from 2-3 (paid!)
Sunday and Monday:
off.
