Position Overview Jumpstart Midland is seeking an energetic, dependable, and community-minded Canvasser/Outreach Associate to help us connect with parents, caregivers, and residents across Midland. This is a temporary, part-time position focused on door-to-door outreach, community engagement, survey collection, and voter registration. The ideal candidate enjoys meeting new people, believes in the power of parent and community voices, and is comfortable working independently in neighborhoods throughout Midland.

Location:

Midland, Texas; field-based community outreach Primary Responsibilities Conduct door-to-door canvassing in assigned Midland neighborhoods. Speak with parents, caregivers, and community members about local education issues and Jumpstart Midland's work. Collect surveys and accurately record residents' responses. Encourage community members to become involved in Jumpstart Midland's activities and campaigns. Complete the necessary training and requirements to become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar. Enter outreach, survey, and contact information into Jumpstart Midland's tracking system accurately and promptly. Maintain organized records of doors knocked, conversations held, surveys completed, voter registrations collected, and follow-up needs. Submit complete and timely weekly activity reports. Participate in regular team check-ins, trainings, and outreach debriefs. Represent Jumpstart Midland professionally, respectfully, and positively in the community. Follow all organizational policies, safety procedures, and applicable voter registration requirements. Qualifications Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable knocking on doors and starting conversations with new people. Dependable, organized, and able to follow through on assignments. Able to accurately collect, enter, and report information. Willingness and ability to become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar. Ability to work independently while staying connected and accountable to the team. Familiarity with Midland's neighborhoods and communities is strongly preferred. Previous experience in canvassing, community outreach, organizing, customer service, voter engagement, or a related role is helpful but not required. Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus. Additional Requirements Reliable transportation is required. Access to a working mobile phone is required. Must be able to travel throughout assigned neighborhoods in Midland. Must be comfortable walking, standing, and working outdoors for extended periods. Must be available for some afternoon, evening, and weekend hours when residents are most likely to be home. Must be available to work during the full assignment period of September 21 through November 4.
