Full Time Position Overview Kiewit is seeking a proposal specialist to join our Proposals Department which supports all Energy, Industrial and Water Business Development teams across the organization. A Fortune 500 company, Kiewit is one of North America's largest and most respected contracting organizations, offering a full suite of project delivery services across engineering, procurement, and construction. Travel up to 10% may be required. District Overview The Kiewit Energy marketing, creative and proposal team provide get-work services to an array of markets, including power generation, transmission and distribution, renewables, industrial, oil and gas, and water/wastewater. Individuals in this department get exposure to a mix of high profile, complex pursuits across North America valued from $5M-$6B. This incredibly profitable, competitive, fun group focuses on winning more work with high-quality, client-focused sales strategies through creative communication techniques. Our rapidly growing team, which includes graphic designers, proposal professionals, writers, digital strategists, marketers, and data analytics brings vast experience, communication expertise, innovative concepts, and best practices to all projects we support across the company. Location This role will be based out of our Lenexa, KS office. Opportunities for flexible work are available of 3 days in the office/2 days from home. Responsibilities- Develop and coordinate proposals, interviews/presentations, and occasionally marketing collateral, media/videos and other special projects that contribute to winning work.
- Lead all proposal activities, including responsibility matrix development, scheduling, kickoff meetings, progress check-ins, reviews and final production.
- Research, interview SMEs and write accurate, engaging and compelling content for proposals.
- Develop win strategies and persuasive content using storyboarding and outlining techniques.
- Leverage Kiewit's historical project database to craft compelling messages and contribute to data maintenance.
- Collaborate with graphic design teams to create visuals aligned with strategic messaging.
- Manage multiple pursuits while ensuring high-quality, deadline-driven deliverables.
- Perform other departmental and administrative tasks, including document formatting, copyediting, production and shipping. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in proposals, marketing or communications (A/E/C or EPC industry experience preferred).
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to produce engaging technical and non-technical content.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365; basic experience with Adobe InDesign preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization and time management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to incorporate feedback professionally.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels, including business development, engineering and operations staff and executive teams.
- Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Occasional travel (less than 10%) may be required.
