This is a full-time, field-based position for a BPI-certified professional who can evaluate home performance, explain findings clearly, and complete accurate program documentation. What you'll do Conduct comprehensive residential home energy assessments in accordance with applicable Mass Save and program requirements. Evaluate insulation, air leakage, ventilation, heating and cooling equipment, domestic hot water systems, and relevant health and safety conditions. Perform diagnostic testing, including blower-door, infrared, and combustion-safety testing, when required by the program and your certification. Document findings accurately in approved energy-efficiency software and company systems, including reports, photos, notes, and required supporting records. Explain practical energy-saving recommendations, eligible incentives, financing options, and next steps to homeowners in clear, non-technical language. Identify and professionally present opportunities involving insulation, air sealing, weatherization, HVAC, heat pumps, water heating, and other eligible efficiency measures. Follow through with qualified opportunities while maintaining accurate, customer-first recommendations. Coordinate professionally with homeowners, office staff, installation teams, contractors, utilities, and program partners. Follow all safety, quality-control, customer-service, and data-privacy standards. What we're looking for Active BPI certification relevant to residential energy assessments is required and must be maintained throughout employment. At least 1 year of hands-on experience in home energy auditing, building performance, weatherization, HVAC, insulation, residential construction, or home inspection. Previous Mass Save or comparable utility-sponsored residential energy-efficiency program experience is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of residential building science, diagnostic testing, and common efficiency measures. Strong customer-service, communication, organization, and follow-through skills. Comfort using mobile devices, web applications, and energy-modeling or inspection software. Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company vehicle-insurance requirements. Ability to work independently in customers' homes and safely access attics, basements, crawlspaces, and other inspection areas; use ladders; and carry field equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation. Compensation and vehicle Guaranteed base salary of $50,000-$60,000 per year, based on relevant experience, certifications, and demonstrated technical capability. Performance-based commission opportunity. Expected total compensation is $70,000-$90,000 per year when performance targets are achieved; commission earnings are not guaranteed.
