We take on exciting problems that require curiosity, technical expertise, policy understanding, and teamwork to solve. DEQ is recruiting an Energy Resource Professional to join the Energy Bureau. Priorities for this position include

• Develop and deploy significant new federally funded energy incentive programs across Montana with a focus on reducing consumer energy costs and increasing the efficiency and performance of homes and businesses;
• Oversee construction-trade and energy auditor training programs that strengthen technical skills, energy code proficiency, and installation quality for homeowners;
• Lead outreach and technical assistance to homeowners and businesses on energy affordability, energy efficiency, building science, energy codes, and energy technologies,
• Manage large scale federally funded contracts, ensuring allpliance and reporting requirements are met; and,
• Support energy policy review and analysis.

The ideal candidate will have familiarity with building sciences, home energy technologies, and energy codes as well as experience conducting stakeholder engagement, providing customer service, and implementing energy efficiency or energy services programs. Strong oral and writtenmunication skills, grant management experience, and a record of effective teamwork are essential to this position. The Energy Resource Professional position includes a career ladder for professional development and pay progression. The position will be based with the Energy Bureau at DEQ's headquarters in Helena, Montana and may be eligible for part-time telework. • Bachelor's degree in engineering/architecture, business management, or related field; or equivalent working experience in similar programs.
• Preferred experience with federal grant management, contract procurement and management, building science and energy codes, energy sector workforce development, energy services program design and delivery, stakeholder engagement and customer service, and project tracking and analysis.
• Current valid Driver's License and clean driving record in accordance with State of Montana Vehicle Use Policy.
