Job Description

DOCCU is seeking a Member Service Representative for our DeQuincy, LA branch. Must have outstanding member service skills and possess the ability to work in a team environment. Responsible for the day to day teller transactions including but not limited to: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, etc. as well as opening and closing of accounts and all member service requests including current balances, transaction history, loan payoffs and statements. Process requests for stop payments, card disputes, wire transfers, and ACH. Maintain product knowledge to assist members with any and all needs. Teller experience required with accurate cash handling and regulatory compliance knowledge. Computer literacy and working knowledge and familiarity with electronic equipment a must. Strong communication and time management skills. Member service oriented. Attention to detail and mathematical skills required. Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome credit union members and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Provide members with prompt and efficient service, and accurately process transactions. Deliver exceptional service via telephone and written correspondence with professionalism and efficiency. Perform routine member transactions such as deposits, cash and check withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, and other member transactions under Credit Union guidelines and procedures. Process incoming mail transactions, ATM deposits, and night deposits daily. Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail. Update accounts or personal information on appropriate systems and databases to ensure accurate records. Assist members with account discrepancies, concerns, and inquiries, and redirect them to the appropriate representative for further assistance or resolution. Promote credit union services with a member's needs and benefits of having such products. Respond to member inquiries regarding accounts, credit union services, and policies. Research or assist in researching transactions when discrepancies or errors are identified. Open new accounts and service existing accounts, including account closures, and perform routine account maintenance. Set up new account records and provide members with all necessary information for membership. Monitor the Overdrawn Shares report and perform subsequent duties for Negative Shares in a relief capacity. Review the New Account audit reports and make necessary corrections or inclusions. Review and maintain the New Hires & Separation report and make necessary changes to members' records. Handle requests for certificate accounts; open and perform transactions for IRAs, etc. Enter information in the IRA database for further processing. When necessary, serve as vault teller by ordering cash, verifying cash received, filling teller cash orders, and balancing cash vault daily. Balance cash drawer (cash and checks) throughout the day and at the end of the shift and compare to the computer-generated teller balancing sheet. Responsible for emailing and notifying the BSA Officer of CTRs and SARs when necessary. Understanding and monitoring of fraud prevention and detection procedures. Perform opening and end-of-day closing routines according to guidelines. Maintain assigned ATMs - including replenishment, balancing, and troubleshooting. Assist the Branch Manager or Loan Officer with the loan application process as instructed and requested.
