Job Description
Member Services Representative Overview Coop's Iron Works is seeking an energetic, dependable, and customer-focused Member Services Representative to join our team. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys helping people, building relationships, and working in a fast-paced fitness environment. As the first and last person our members interact with each day, you'll play a vital role in creating an exceptional experience. You'll be responsible for welcoming members, selling new memberships, upgrading existing memberships, giving facility tours, answering questions, and ensuring the gym remains clean, organized, and operating efficiently. We are looking for someone who is positive, self-motivated, professional, and comfortable talking with people from all walks of life. Sales experience is a plus, but an outgoing personality and willingness to learn are even more important. Responsibilities Membership Sales & Lead Follow-Up Welcome walk-in prospects and provide professional tours of the facility. Sell new memberships and explain membership options. Upgrade existing memberships and educate members on available services. Contact prospective members by phone, text, and email to schedule tours and follow up on inquiries. Meet individual and team membership sales goals. Process membership agreements and maintain accurate member records. Member Experience & Customer Service Greet every member and guest with enthusiasm and professionalism. Provide outstanding customer service while answering questions and resolving concerns. Check members in using the gym management software. Assist members with account changes, billing questions, cancellations, freezes, and general inquiries. Build relationships with members and help create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages retention. Daily Operations Open and/or close the facility following company procedures. Complete opening and closing checklists. Ensure the front desk remains organized and professional. Restock retail products, cleaning supplies, and other inventory as needed. Assist with smoothie bar or retail sales when necessary. Accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and daily deposits. Facility Cleanliness Perform routine cleaning throughout the facility. Clean fitness equipment throughout the day. Vacuum, mop, sanitize, and disinfect assigned areas. Clean locker rooms, bathrooms, windows, and common areas. Empty trash and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members. Team Responsibilities Work closely with trainers and management to provide an exceptional member experience. Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training. Promote gym events, special offers, and new programs. Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily operations. Experience & QualificationsPreferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Previous customer service or sales experience preferred. Experience in a gym, fitness, retail, hospitality, or service environment is a plus. Basic computer skills and ability to learn gym management software. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
