About the role A Service Associate establishes the first impression a member or guest has of the organization. The Service Associate's responsibilities include welcoming members and providing routine information concerning services. They will receive and process a variety of member financial transactions. Service Associate's also refer members to the other departments for specific information and service. The ability to assist members promptly, professionally, and accurately with their financial transactions as well as the ability to follow and accurately convey protocol are key to success in this position. Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; wire transfers; sells money orders, travel & gift cards to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed. Assist members with card transactions to include card issuance and transaction review. Provides friendly, professional, and personal service to all members and associates. Balances cash drawer in accordance with the over short policy. Accurately post transactions to member accounts and maintain member records. Troubleshoot and resolve internal and external inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner. Maintain knowledge of credit union products, services, and rates to better assist member needs. Proactively seek opportunities to identify needs for products or services that will provide benefits for members. Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including computer input, scanning, responding to emails and answering the telephone. May assist existing members with various account services and transactions by setting up Certificates of Deposit, converting accounts to Kasasa, adding existing accounts. Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness. Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance. Ensures appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared. Embodies the Park Side Pillars of Pride, Purpose, Professionalism and Passion. Performance Metrics Processes member transactions accurately and efficiently while creating a welcoming impression and experience. Refers member and prospective member inquiries to the appropriate department. Has a strong record of balancing in accordance with credit union policy. Continuously alert for suspicious and fraudulent activities which could impact member accounts. Stays current with regulations, policy & procedures affecting the front line operations to protect the members and the credit union's assets. Stay vigilant for fraudulent activities and transactions and notify a member of management with any concerns or questions. Embodies the Park Side Pillars of Pride, Purpose, Professionalism and Passion. Requirements A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Maintains confidentiality of all credit union and member activities. Work involves the ability to motivate and influence others. Fostering sound relationships with others is necessary. Must have ability to learn and proficiently use various software programs/platforms. Qualifications A high school education or equivalent Previous customer service and/or cash handling experience preferred. Basic computer knowledge is preferred. Previous experience working in a team environment. Hours This Service Associate position is full-time and will work approximately 35 hours a week, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30-6pm.
