The Front Counter Lead plays an important role in creating a positive, safe, and welcoming Club environment while overseeing the daily operations of the front counter. This position combines customer service, administrative support, membership data entry, cash handling, attendance tracking, and communication with families . The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and families, stays organized in a busy environment, and can confidently manage multiple responsibilities throughout the day. What You'll Do Welcome members, parents, donors, and visitors with enthusiasm and professionalism. Serve as the primary point of contact at the Club's front counter. Answer incoming phone calls, direct calls, and provide accurate information to families and visitors. Complete membership data entry and maintain accurate and up-to-date member records using membership software. Maintain daily attendance records and ensure membership information is current. Handle cash, track transactions, and ensure daily deposits are accurate and completed on time. Track field trip registrations, enrollments, and permission slips. Accept and track walk-in donations from the public. Maintain and organize the front counter, member files, forms, and other materials. Ensure necessary forms and paperwork are available for parents and guardians. Respond to parent and guardian questions and direct concerns to the appropriate staff member when needed. Promote Club programs and encourage member participation in scheduled activities. Maintain lost and found items. Provide basic first aid at the front counter and contact parents when a member becomes ill. Help maintain neat hallways and restrooms throughout the day. Support a safe, positive, and fun environment for Club members. Serve as a positive role model and help ensure the safety and well-being of youth. Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age. Experience working with children or youth. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work professionally with parents, guardians, staff, members, and the general public. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy, youth-focused environment. Ability to motivate youth and appropriately manage behavior concerns. Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment. Ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
Preferred:
Previous front desk, administrative, customer service, or cash-handling experience. Experience with membership databases or data entry. Experience working in a Boys & Girls Club, youth program, school, childcare, or similar environment. Bilingual skills are a plus.
