POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The MSR position at the Ashtabula County Family YMCA intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and honest while offering a positive member experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention. Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sell memberships and process program registration. Build relationships with members; help members connect with one another and the YMCA. Responsible for the collection of funds for memberships, classes, room rentals, and computer entries for memberships and programs. Resolve membership concerns and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues. Responsible for all telephone calls and communication of information pertaining to the YMCA programs and facilities including types of memberships, rates, payment plans and current program activities, acceptance of registrations Opening and closing the facility according to YMCA policies and procedures. Responsible for facility tours as needed. Apply all YMCA policies dealing with member services. May schedule court reservations, provide rental equipment, and sell YMCA merchandise. Maintain an accurate inventory and record of daily transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Six months or more of related experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. Ability to report and record maintenance requests. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment. Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment. Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use. CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Light work. Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The worker may be subject to noise. Occasionally subject to environmental conditions and unstable surfaces. Activities occur mostly inside.
Ability to:
stand, sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching occasionally during the work shift; use hands and fingers for fine motor skills occasionally; walking on a variety of uneven surfaces and climbing stairs occasionally; receive detailed information through sound as well as express through spoken word; read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
