Overview The Manager of Member Engagement is responsible for driving membership growth and maximizing member retention. This role blends relationship management, revenue generation, and membership engagement to grow The Alliance's membership base. The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator who is confident discussing value, asking for financial commitments, and cultivating long-term relationships with nonprofit Executives.

Bachelor's Degree Key Responsibilities Member Recruitment Analyze multiple data sources (e.g., State POS provider lists, Salesforce pipelines, historical contacts) to continuously build and maintain a prospective member pipeline. Conduct outreach and meet with prospective nonprofit Executives to understand their needs, communicate the value of Alliance membership, and confidently ask for their financial commitment to join. Coordinate staff involvement in outreach to prospects, ensuring effective follow-through and timely conversion. Develop and implement membership recruitment campaigns that promote the value and impact of Alliance membership. Member Retention Lead onboarding for all new members, ensuring a smooth and engaging introduction to The Alliance. Confidently communicate membership value and guide renewal conversations, including asking for continued financial commitment. Use CRM (Salesforce) and other data sources to monitor member engagement, identify at-risk members, and recommend retention strategies. Develop and coordinate a year-round member engagement strategy, including regular outreach by Alliance staff, to strengthen relationships, reinforce membership value, and address concerns. Develop and launch the annual member feedback survey; analyze results and propose improvements. Manage the annual membership renewal cycle, including messaging, follow-up, and reporting. Events & Engagement Represent The Alliance at external events to increase visibility and connect with current and prospective members. Support planning and execution of internal Alliance events such as networking sessions, the annual conference, and other member engagement programs. Capture event outcomes and leads in CRM and ensure timely follow-up. Qualifications Demonstrated success in membership sales, business development, fundraising, account management, customer success, or another relationship-driven revenue-generating role. Strong relationship-building skills; able to engage nonprofit executives credibly. Experience in major donor cultivation, major gifts fundraising, membership management customer success, sales or another relationship-driven and revenue generating role. Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple relationships and deadlines. Familiarity with Connecticut's nonprofit sector is a plus. Work Environment The Alliance operates in a flexible hybrid work environment. This position is primarily remote, with the expectation that the employee is available for in-person connection through membership meetings, team gatherings, and events throughout Connecticut. Candidates must reside in Connecticut and be able to travel within the state.
