About ICCFA The International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA) is a trade association dedicated to providing exceptional education, networking opportunities, and legislative guidance to progressive cemetery, funeral, and cremation professionals worldwide. The Opportunity ICCFA is seeking a highly organized, responsive, and detail-oriented Membership Specialist to support membership recruitment, retention, engagement, and day-to-day membership operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, is comfortable proactively reaching out to prospective members, and can balance recruitment efforts with strong member service and operational responsibilities. The Membership Specialist works toward established recruitment and retention goals while supporting membership operations through Novi AMS, coordinating key member programs, and helping ensure a positive experience throughout the member lifecycle. What You'll Do Membership Recruitment, Retention & Engagement Recruit new members through proactive phone and email outreach, referrals, networking, industry connections, and assigned events. Maintain a pipeline of prospective members, conduct consistent follow-up, and work toward established recruitment and retention goals. Build relationships with current members to increase engagement, promote ICCFA benefits and programs, and support long-term retention. Welcome and onboard new members and connect them with relevant ICCFA resources and opportunities. Support annual membership renewals, retention campaigns, and member outreach. Develop relationships with state, regional, and affiliated organizations to identify membership opportunities and strengthen industry connections. Membership Operations & Programs Maintain accurate member and company records in Novi AMS and process new memberships, renewals, and account updates. Track and report membership activity and trends and identify opportunities to strengthen recruitment, retention, and engagement. Manage ICCFA's Music License Program and Member Benefits Program, including member support and partner relationships. Coordinate ICCFA's Volunteer Program, connecting members with opportunities to serve on committees and other volunteer initiatives. Committee, Communications & Member Support Serve as staff liaison to the Membership Committee and other committees as assigned, supporting meetings, initiatives, and related activities. Work with Marketing & Communications on membership recruitment, retention, engagement, and promotional efforts. Represent ICCFA at select conferences, industry events, and state association meetings. Collaborate across departments to provide responsive, accurate, and consistent member service. What You Bring Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Two or more years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a professional association, nonprofit, or membership-based organization, with experience in membership, relationship management, customer success, sales, or a related field. Demonstrated success in relationship building, proactive outreach, and achieving membership, sales, customer service, or engagement goals. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Self-motivated and comfortable taking initiative, following up, and working independently as well as collaboratively. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience working with databases, CRM systems, or an Association Management System (AMS); Novi AMS experience is a plus. Experience supporting committees, volunteers, or member programs is a plus. Ability to travel periodically for ICCFA conferences, industry events, and state association meetings. Salary, Benefits & Schedule Salary range of $65,000-$70,000 annually, based on experience. Medical, dental, and vision coverage; disability and life insurance; a 401(k) plan with employer contribution; vacation and sick leave; and paid holidays. Hybrid position based in ICCFA's Sterling, Virginia office, with a combination of in-office and remote work. Standard office hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. ET, with flexibility required during conference and travel periods.
