Orientation Engagement & Membership Support Staff the Texas Parents Association table during all assigned Orientation sessions. Welcome families and explain the purpose, benefits, and value of Texas Parents membership. Assist parents with on-site membership registration and payment. Distribute benefit packets and ensure families receive the correct materials. Leadership Serve as an on-site point of support for undergraduate membership staff during Orientation sessions, modeling professionalism, strong customer service, and effective engagement with families. Assist with day-to-day coordination by helping answer questions, reinforcing training expectations, and ensuring consistent messaging and procedures across the membership team. Communicate observations, challenges, and staffing needs to full-time supervisors to support smooth operations and continuous improvement during Orientation sessions. Information & System Use Learn and accurately explain all membership levels, pricing, benefits, and deadlines. Search and verify family information in the Texas Parents database. Enter membership information and update records as needed. Customer Service & Troubleshooting Answer a wide variety of questions with confidence, positivity, and professionalism. Identify and resolve basic issues, such as duplicated accounts, payment errors, or missing benefits. Escalate complex problems to full-time staff when necessary. Maintain a calm and helpful presence even during busy peak times. Professional Development & Transferable Skills Gained Develop advanced professional communication and public-facing engagement skills through daily interaction with families and campus partners. Gain hands-on experience in customer service, issue resolution, and emotional intelligence in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Build competency in administrative processes, data entry, and systems navigation using organizational databases. Strengthen problem-solving and decision-making skills by resolving real-time registration, payment, and account issues. Practice time management, accountability, and professional reliability across a structured summer work schedule.
