Job Description
Role Summary A Branch Merchandiser DOT supports route sales operations by merchandising and maintaining product displays in assigned retail accounts, assisting with delivery-day execution, and following applicable DOT safety requirements while training toward a CDL (as required). Key Responsibilities Merchandise products in assigned stores: stock shelves/doors/freezers, rotate inventory (FIFO), face products, and maintain attractive, compliant displays and signage. Keep product displays full, neat, and clean; remove damaged/expired product and promptly address out-of-stock and merchandising issues. Maintain positive relationships with store management and staff; communicate promotions, display opportunities, and service needs professionally. Accompany driver-sales personnel on route days as needed; assist with loading/unloading, verifying counts, staging product, and restocking accounts. Monitor inventory levels, backstock, and merchandising standards; report equipment, product, or service concerns to the Branch Manager/Sales Manager and document issues when required. Follow all safety, food-handling, and DOT-related requirements applicable to the role (e.g., safe driving practices, incident reporting) and complete on-the-job training toward a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within 30 days of employment (if not already licensed). Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Merchandising knowledge: Ability to stock, rotate (FIFO), face product, and build/maintain clean, attractive ice cream/freezer displays that meet company standards.

Ability to maintain positive working relationships with store management and personnel and respond professionally to requests and concerns.Communication skills:
Ability to communicate clearly and regularly with the Branch Manager and Sales Manager regarding equipment, product, inventory, or service issues.Time management and organization:
Ability to prioritize tasks across multiple stores/accounts, work efficiently, and meet service expectations.Attention to detail:
Ability to check for out-of-stocks, damaged product, proper rotation, and overall display cleanliness; follow written instructions and standards.Basic math and recordkeeping:
Ability to verify counts, assist with inventory, and complete required documentation accurately.Safety and compliance awareness:
Ability to follow safe work practices, food-handling expectations, and DOT-related requirements applicable to the role.Technology skills:
Ability to use basic mobile/handheld devices and common applications for communication, scheduling, and reporting (training provided as needed). Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Safe driving record with no more than two preventable collisions or moving violations in the past three years. Must be at least 21 years of age to meet DOT requirements. CDL preferred but not required; must be able to obtain a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within 30 days of hire (on-the-job training provided for non-CDL candidates). Availability to work a schedule that may vary by location, including weekends and holidays as needed. Dependable, personable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.Physical Requirements Standing/walking:
Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift while servicing multiple retail locations.Bending/reaching/stooping:
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting to stock product and build/maintain displays in freezers and on shelves.Lifting/carrying:
Ability to lift, carry, and place product/cases up to 50 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodation).Pushing/pulling:
Ability to push/pull loaded hand trucks, carts, or pallet jacks and maneuver products in backrooms and sales floors.Manual dexterity:
Repetitive hand and arm motions for stocking, facing, and handling product, packaging, and tools.Driving/riding:
Frequent driving between accounts and/or riding along on route deliveries; must be able to enter/exit vehicle and work safely around delivery equipment.Environmental exposure:
Regular work in cold environments (freezers/coolers) and variable indoor/outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and wet weather. Work Environment Work is performed primarily in retail locations and on the road with frequent travel between accounts.
