Our client is a well-known and highly respected North American wine & spirits distributor. They are seeking a part-time merchandiser to focus on major grocery stores Monday through Friday each week. The Merchandiser will get a new schedule each with a specific store they are merchandising each day. The shifts usually start somewhere between 5AM and 8AM. Merchandisers use their own personal vehicles to travel to and from the store. In addition to the hourly rate of $20.00 an hour, merchandisers are paid .76 a mile for any store over 15 miles one way from their home. Merchandisers are paid each Friday for hours worked the previous week as well as mileage reimbursement which is grossed up. The merchandisers do not deliver products. All of the wine & spirits that need to be merchandised will have already been delivered to each store earlier in the day or the day before by our client's large fleet of trucks and drivers. The job of the merchandiser is to move the products out onto the floor of the store and place them on shelves, the cold box or small end caps making them look more attractive and increase the chance that shoppers will see and purchase the products that our client sells. Merchandisers receive thorough training on this portion of the job.

Desired Background/Skills:

Good interpersonal, time management and communication skills Basic PC skills. Ability to work under minimum supervision to merchandise product and service retail accounts. Prior route sales, merchandising or delivery experience is highly desired but not mandatory. Minimum high school diploma. Must possess a valid Driver's License. Reliable personal transportation is required (mileage reimbursed at .76 a mile grossed up). Must be at least 21 years of age or older

Dress Requirements:

In this role you will be a Representative of our client. Merchandisers should be neat, clean and well groomed. The preferred dress is dark pants or dark jeans with a polo shirt or any other type of collared shirt and comfortable shoes. Open toed shoes are not allowed for safety reasons.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be capable of lifting cases wine or spirits (which can weigh up to 40 pounds each) multiple times per day. There is also some bending, stooping and in the case of the Total Wine Stores, occasionally climbing ladders as well.
