Apparel Merchandising Assistant Employment Type:

Approximately 20-25 hours per week

Position Summary The Apparel Merchandising Assistant supports the merchandising and design teams in product development, sample coordination, and e-commerce execution. This role helps maintain accurate product information, organize samples, coordinate photoshoots, and ensure alignment across internal teams and external vendors. Ideal candidates are organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in a fast-paced apparel environment.
Key Responsibilities Technical Design Support:
Assist in creating and updating tech packs, sketches, and product specifications. Help organize fabric, trim, and construction details for development.
Sample Coordination:
Support the review of garment samples by measuring, organizing, and preparing for fit sessions. Help track sample status and note feedback for the team.
Vendor Support:
Assist with communication with vendors and help track timelines. Support coordination of both apparel and non-apparel samples.
Department Organization:
Help maintain sample organization, including tagging, tracking, archiving, and preparing items for sample sales or donations.
Pre-Shoot Preparation:
Help prepare for photoshoots by organizing samples, updating product tracking sheets, assisting with and preparing catalog layouts and shot lists for photo team, bagging and boxing all samples in sort list order, and facilitating communication with internal and photo teams.
Post- Shoot Support:
Organize and coordinate shipping of photo samples to pre-press resources and communicate any desired changes. Assist with organizing, naming, and uploading images. Help ensure product information and imagery are accurate across systems.
Merchandising & Website Support:
Assist with product setup, updates, and go-live preparation on the website. Facilitate internal reviews of catalog marketing materials. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Production, or related field (or equivalent experience) is a plus. 1+ year of experience in a similar role within the fashion or apparel industry preferred. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Flexibility to work 8am-5pm PST, M-F, with additional availability to accommodate deadlines/time zone differences; occasional travel as needed for business. Ability to regularly sit, work at a computer, and communicate clearly, verbally and in writing and occasionally lifting up to 40 lbs. Compensation Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations.
Hourly Pay Rate:
$24.50 to $27.50 per hour
