  • Job Description Position Overview Follett Higher Education is a leading educational service provider and omnichannel retailer, providing students, faculty, staff, parents, and fans with the course materials, learning tools, and retail services needed to successfully support the collegiate journey.

Follett Higher Education supports over 6 million students through its 1,100 physical and 1,750 eCommerce campus stores across North America. The General Merchandise (GM) Field Assistant supports bookstore merchandise needs in the purchasing process of General Merchandise categories. Closely supports buyers and planners and acts as a liaison among stores, vendors, and buying offices. Responsibilities Prepare and edit purchase orders in the Merchandise Management System (MMS). Resolve issues related to fulfilling orders.

Research vendor and product information for buyers, planners, and store associates, including product availability, pricing, discounts, and shipping, as received via phone or email.

Maintain vendor correspondence and store communications.

Process merchandise returns, investigate, and resolve other merchandise issues.

Contact stores about promotions, conferences, and other sales opportunities.

Generate reports and Excel spreadsheets.

Follow up on order status.

Review merchandise artwork and graphics for accuracy.

Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Associate's degree or equivalent.

1-3 years of experience in a related field preferred.

Beginner to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy.
