Position Summary The Director of Amazon Sales is responsible for leading and scaling the company's Amazon business across Vendor Central (1P) and Seller Central (3P) platforms, with the majority of the business operating through 1P. This role owns the full Amazon P&L, drives operational excellence, and partners cross‑functionally to deliver aggressive growth, profitability, and brand visibility goals. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Amazon operations, merchandising, advertising, and analytics, and serves as the primary strategic liaison between the company, Amazon vendor teams, and external partners/agencies. Key Responsibilities Amazon Strategy, Sales & P&L Ownership Own and manage the full Amazon P&L, including forecasting, budgeting, trade spend, and profitability analysis. Define and execute long‑term and short‑term growth strategies across Amazon 1P and 3P channels. Develop and deliver sales strategies to exceed revenue, margin, and market share targets. Lead joint business planning (JBP), promotional calendars, and vendor negotiations with Amazon. Oversee agency and external partner relationships to ensure alignment with KPIs and business objectives. Operations & Inventory Management Lead all operational aspects of Amazon, including inventory planning, demand forecasting, catalog management, account health, and customer experience. Partner with supply chain, planning, finance, and IT to maintain high in‑stock rates and efficient inventory flow. Drive integration between Vendor Central and internal systems to streamline SOPs and reduce manual workload. Implement tools and processes to support order processing, bulk uploads, and deduction reconciliation. Merchandising, Marketing & Advertising Oversee product listings, PDP content, SEO, and brand compliance across all Amazon assets. Lead Amazon advertising strategy, including PPC, Amazon Ads, ACoS optimization, and tentpole events (e.g., Prime Day). Drive go‑to‑market strategies for new product launches and seasonal initiatives. Optimize search rankings, conversion, and traffic through continuous content and merchandising improvements. Data, Reporting & Performance Optimization Monitor and analyze KPIs including POS performance, traffic, conversion, inventory health, advertising performance, and ROI. Develop and enhance dashboards and reporting tools using Amazon and third‑party platforms. Leverage customer behavior, sales trends, and operational data to identify risks and growth opportunities. Utilize market monitoring and analytics tools (e.g., Helium10, JS Cobalt, and similar platforms). Cross‑Functional Leadership & Collaboration Partner closely with product management, marketing, creative, licensing, finance, and supply chain teams to align inventory, promotions, and product strategy. Serve as the primary point of contact for Amazon vendor managers and internal stakeholders. Lead, mentor, and develop Amazon account managers and related team members, ensuring alignment to goals and execution excellence. Resolve catalog, variation, compliance, and operational issues in coordination with Amazon and internal teams. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. 8+ years of experience managing Amazon Seller Central and/or Vendor Central, preferably within consumer goods or licensed merchandise. Proven track record of scaling Amazon businesses and owning full P&L responsibility. Strong analytical and financial acumen with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling). Hands‑on experience with Amazon advertising, SEO, and content optimization. Experience using Amazon analytics and third‑party tools such as Helium10, JS Cobalt, or similar platforms. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and highly cross‑functional environment.
