Role Description The DSD Coordinator / Manager is responsible for building and managing a network of regional and independent distributors that deliver consumer food products directly to retail. This role is the day-to-day operational link between the company and its distributor partners - ensuring routes are performing, accounts are serviced, and promotional programs are executed at store level. Strong data and analytical skills are essential; this role is expected to use sales performance data to drive decisions, identify opportunities, and hold the network accountable to results. The right candidate understands how DSD networks operate, knows how to read the numbers behind them, and can translate data into action in the field Key Responsibilities ?Distributor Network Management (Primary): ? Manage relationships with a portfolio of regional and independent DSD distributors across an assigned territory. ? Recruit, onboard, and develop distributor partners to expand market coverage and fill geographic gaps. ? Hold regular business reviews with distributors to assess route performance, account penetration, and sales results. ? Ensure distributors are meeting service standards for on-time delivery, order accuracy, and retail compliance. ? Resolve distributor issues related to invoicing, returns, inventory, and account conflicts in a timely manner. ? Serve as the primary escalation point between the company and distributor partners. Data Analysis & Performance Management (Primary): ? Own the tracking and analysis of key network metrics: on-time delivery, order fill rate, distribution points, velocity by SKU, and promotional sell-through. ? Build and maintain reporting tools that give clear visibility into distributor and account performance across the territory. ? Analyze sales data by distributor, route, and account to identify trends, gaps, and growth opportunities. ? Use data to prioritize field activity, target underperforming accounts, and make the case for route or coverage changes. ? Provide regular performance reporting to management with clear findings and recommended actions. ? Monitor competitive activity and market trends through available data sources; surface insights to the sales and marketing teams.

Sales & Promotional Execution:

? Communicate and implement promotional programs, new item launches, and seasonal priorities through the distributor network. ? Ensure distributors are executing displays, shelf sets, and promotional pricing at the store level on schedule. ? Track promotional sell-through by account and distributor; report results and identify gaps in execution. ? Coordinate with the sales and marketing teams to align distributor activity with company promotional calendars.

Retail Account Support:

? Conduct regular store visits to verify product placement, inventory levels, and promotional compliance. ? Build working relationships with store managers and buyers to support sell-in and resolve service issues. ? Identify voids, out-of-stocks, and competitive threats; work with distributors to correct promptly.

Operations & Logistics:

? Monitor delivery schedules and route structures to ensure efficient coverage of all accounts. ? Optimize route sequencing and frequency in coordination with distributor partners to reduce cost and improve service. ? Maintain accurate records of distributor agreements, route assignments, and account coverage. ? Ensure compliance with food safety standards, product rotation requirements, and company policies. Qualifications ? 3-8 years of experience in DSD, distribution management, or field sales within the consumer food industry. ? Direct experience managing regional and independent distributors; understanding of distributor economics and route ownership models. ? Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to work with sales data, build reporting, and draw actionable conclusions - advanced Excel required; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools a plus. ? Experience with syndicated data sources (IRI, Nielsen, SPINS) preferred. ? Proven track record executing retail promotional programs through a distributor network. ? Familiarity with DSD receiving processes, route management software, and retail merchandising standards. ? Strong negotiation and relationship management skills; comfortable holding distributor partners accountable to data-driven performance targets. ? Highly organized with the ability to manage a large account base across a broad geography. ? Knowledge of food safety regulations and cold chain requirements preferred. ? Bachelor's degree in business, sales, analytics, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered. ? Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly within the territory.
