Full Job Description Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs duties in a safe and efficient manner, consistent with store safety policies and procedures. Has basic knowledge of products available in produce, including seasonal products. Keeps Fresh fruit and vegetable section stocked and rotated on a daily basis Prices and displays product in cases as directed by the Department Manager. Keeps displays, shelves, and refrigerated cases properly stocked and faced at all times, according to product movement and the department standards. Follows approved procedures for code dating, trimming, crisping, storing, price marking and restocking products. Code-dates and rotates all the perishable merchandise to ensure quality and freshness. Assists in cashiering, answering phone calls, and taking phone orders. Handles damaged and spoiled products according to department procedures, and assists in controlling the level of damaged goods. Performs price checks as requested. Retrieves items that customers are unable to reach, lift, or find. Maintains good housekeeping and sanitation standards in compliance with store policies and applicable health regulations. Assists with cleanup of spills, breakages, and other maintenance duties as assigned. Participates in training activities to increase personal skill levels, and improve overall department processes and customer service. Performs other duties as assigned by the department head or other management personnel. Meets the physical requirements to perform the job functions listed above. Provides light supervision and training of other associates when assigned. Experience in Produce retail
