Assistant Driver Supervisor Role Overview As a Merchandiser at Tryon Distributing, you'll help keep our beer, wine, and beverage brands looking their best in stores throughout your territory. From building displays to supporting deliveries and merchandising product, you'll play an important role in creating exceptional retail experiences for consumers across North Carolina. Duties and responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to all assigned accounts Stock, merchandise, and rotate product on various displays and shelves according to industry standards Drive assigned routes or ride along with delivery drivers on major deliveries Assist delivery drivers by unloading products, checking in, and stocking orders Work orders in retail outlets that have been delivered and checked in Build displays as required Report daily activities within assigned territory Collect on Open AR aging invoices Make deliveries to assist drivers on the heaviest routes QualificationsREQUIRED
Must be 18 years of age or older Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver up to 175 lbs. Ability to use mobile Proof of Delivery (POD) device Excellent customer service skills Must be a team player and work well with minimum supervision Knowledge of safe work practices Ability to drive throughout assigned route in all kinds of weather and road conditions Ability to work within tight time constraints in a fast-paced environmentPREFERRED
High School Diploma or GED equivalent One year of experience in a service-oriented or customer-facing position Ability to work flexible hours Previous box truck experience Experience with material handling equipment (i.e. hand truck, dolly, pallet jack) Working conditions You will perform work in these areas: Warehouse dock Customer locations In Company Provided Vehicle Employees must be able to work in changing weather conditions and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all environments. The noise level in these areas is generally moderate. Physical requirements Must be able to safely lift up to 20 lbs. continually (15+ loads per hour) Must be able to safely lift up to 30 lbs. frequently (10-15 loads per hour) Must be able to safely lift between 50 and 175 lbs. occasionally (1-10 loads per hour) Must be able to stand and walk frequently (3-5 hours per day) and drive continually (5-8 hours per day) Must be able to bend, twist, kneel, climb, squat, reach, stretch, and perform repetitive hand and foot motions occasionally throughout the workday (1-4 hours per day) Why Join Tryon?
