Who we are C&C Soda has been around since 1865 — founded in Ireland, in the U.S. since the 1950s, and right now in the middle of a full brand relaunch. East Coast Food Distributors, out of Linden, NJ, puts C&C and a portfolio of national beverage brands on shelves across New Jersey and the New York metro. We're about 40 people. Small enough that you'll know the owner by name, and growing fast enough that there's real room to move up. The job, in plain language- You own a set of ShopRite stores. Every week you visit each one, make the C&C section look the way it should, build displays that actually move product, and write the replenishment order so the store never runs out. You are C&C in your stores. What the store manager thinks of you is what they think of the brand. What the day actually looks like- We'd rather tell you now than have you find out in week two: Early starts — you're in your first store around 7:30 AM, before the aisles fill up You will be moving cases all day: lifting, stacking, pulling product from the backroom, building floor displays. This is physical work 4 to 5 stores a day, 20 to 25 a week, driving your own vehicle between them Backroom hunting, pulling dated product, and shelf resets are part of it You work on your own most of the day — your manager is a phone call away, rides along with you monthly, and checks in every week Your finish time depends on the route, the season, and whether a holiday week is coming. Summer and the weeks before a holiday run longer. Some days you'll be done early; some days you won't If that sounds like your kind of day, keep reading. If it doesn't, we'd rather you know now. You get paid for selling, not just stocking Most merchandising jobs pay you to fill a shelf and stop there. This one doesn't. On top of your salary, you earn a monthly performance bonus tied to the orders you write. Every store on your route has a baseline built from its own sales history. Anything you sell above that baseline earns you money — and the packages that carry more profit are worth more to you, so a bigger order isn't the goal. A smarter one is. Standings post twice a week, so you always know exactly where you stand. Everyone is measured against their own route, not against whoever happens to have the biggest stores. Bonuses pay out monthly. If you're the kind of person who checks the scoreboard, you'll like this job. Where this leads- This is a starting job, not a dead-end one. One of our merchandisers joined us last year and now runs our Costco business as a category manager. That happened in about twelve months, because he showed he could sell — and we'd rather promote someone who already knows our brand than hire a stranger. The path from here- Merchandiser →
