ABOUT THE ROLE
The Merchandise Planner will develop seasonal product strategies that optimize inventory and maximize sales and profits for assigned area. They are responsible to partner with cross functional team members to ensure strategies are met that meet or exceed profit goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop pre-season top-down/bottom-up plans for sales, inventory, markdowns, and gross margin. Develops Key Item and assortment strategies and partners with team to insure execution. Monitor Open-To-Buy and communicates over-/under-bought situations and provides recommendations for resolution. Conduct in-season business analysis and forecast centered around risk and/or opportunity of a product plan as it relates to trend and financial metrics, including but not limited to initial mark-up, average unit retail, and product seasonality. Drive proper store inventory levels across all stores, by partnering with allocation and field personnel. Identify store needs and opportunities and create action plan to satisfy. Review inventory levels weekly in key classifications and work with team to highlight opportunities or areas of concern, and report on findings. Review existing reports as well as develop new reports to help support and drive the business.
REQUIREMENTS 3-5
years of planning experience. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. Strong analytical and quantitative skills; highly proficient in Excel and merchandise planning systems. Strong communication skills including the ability to work in a team environment. Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and works well under pressure.
