Grain Merchandiser

Position Objective :

The Grain Merchandiser is responsible for the purchase and sale of grain and feed commodities. They must have a strong understanding of the grain market and be able to identify and capitalize on trading opportunities. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and results-oriented individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Analyze market data and trends to identify trading opportunities. Develop and execute trading strategies. Manage risk and minimize losses. Build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers. Negotiate contracts and pricing. Monitor market conditions and make adjustments to trading strategies as needed. Stay up to date on industry news and regulations. Manage underlying hedging strategies for corn, beans, wheat, soybean meal, soybean oil.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in the grain industry. Strong understanding of the grain market. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Ag Business or Ag Economics or another related field (preferred, not required)

Experience :

Preferred 2-5 years of experience in related positions
