Part-Time Position Overview The Visual Merchandising Associate supports the overall visual presentation and merchandising flow of The Oakland Home Store. Working closely with the Home Store GM, management team, and visual team members, this role helps bring the store's seasonal vision and product stories to life through thoughtful merchandising, creative displays, and hands-on execution. We're looking for a creative, dependable individual with strong design instincts, spatial awareness, and a passion for home and lifestyle retail. This role is highly hands-on and includes moving merchandise, styling displays, resetting spaces, and assisting with seasonal transitions throughout both indoor and outdoor areas of the store. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow within visual merchandising, contribute creatively, and work in a dynamic retail environment on a flexible part-time schedule. Key Responsibilities Assist in executing visual merchandising strategies that support sales and elevate the customer experience. Help maintain the placement, flow, and presentation of merchandise throughout the store's indoor and outdoor spaces. Support seasonal floor moves, installations, and display resets. Collaborate with store leadership and team members to create inspiring product stories and visual moments. Assist with setup and takedown for seasonal collections and special events. Use basic tools and installation equipment safely and effectively. Help maintain an organized, inspiring, and customer-ready sales floor each day. Qualifications 1-3+ years of retail, merchandising, styling, or visual experience preferred (home, furniture, or lifestyle retail a plus). Strong eye for design, composition, and visual storytelling. Comfortable lifting and moving items over 50 lbs; physically capable and safety-minded. Positive attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to adapt quickly and work creatively in a fast-paced, ever-changing retail environment. Weekend availability required. Passion for home décor, design, and creating inspiring spaces.
