Position Overview The Commodity Merchandising Internship provides hands-on exposure to the fast-paced world of agricultural commodity merchandising. Interns work alongside experienced merchandisers and trading professionals to gain insight into grain and grain product marketing, trading, customer relationship management, and market analysis. Through meaningful projects, training, and day-to-day business experiences, interns develop foundational merchandising skills while exploring future career opportunities within The Andersons Trade Group. This internship is based out of Maumee, OH or Overland Park, KS. Housing may be provided for qualified candidates. Key Responsibilities Learn commodity merchandising terminology, tools, concepts, and business systems Assist with analyzing local, national, and global agricultural markets and evaluating factors that influence commodity prices Gain exposure to grain procurement, marketing, trading, transportation, and supply chain activities Support merchandisers with customer relationship management, market research, data analysis, and administrative activities Develop an understanding of grain and grain product marketing, trading flows, and market fundamentals Monitor changing crop, economic, and market conditions and assist with gathering relevant information Build relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external customers Collaborate with cross-functional teams including merchandising, operations, logistics, accounting, and customer service Complete a merchandising business proposal focused on a real-world business opportunity and present findings and recommendations to business leaders and team members What is Expected of You and Others at This Level Minimal job-related experience Acquires basic skills to perform routine tasks Work is prescribed and completed with little autonomy Works with either close supervision, or under clearly defined procedures Competencies Expected of You and Others at This Level Collaborates

- Gains the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity Minimum Qualifications & Skills High School Diploma or GED equivalent required Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field Rising junior or senior preferred 0-2 years' relevant internship, work, leadership, or agricultural experience required Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence others Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who thrives in a fast-paced environment Comfortable evaluating opportunities, making decisions, and taking appropriate risks Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel This job description is intended to give you a general understanding of the role and the type of work involved, but it may not include every responsibility or requirement.
