POSITION SUMMARY:

SCOTT USA, Inc. is seeking a qualified individual for the full-time position of Merchandising Planner. SCOTT Sports was established in 1958 and has grown into an international action-sport brand. Core sports divisions for the brand include: Bike, Wintersport, Motosport and Running. Internationally based in Fribourg, Switzerland, the North American headquarters is located Ogden, UT. This position will be a hybrid role located at our headquarters In Ogden, UT. The Merchandise Planner is a high-impact analytical role responsible for bridging the gap between market demand and inventory execution. This position supports the Senior Merchant in translating seasonal strategies into actionable unit-level plans across SCOTT's core divisions: Bike, Wintersport, Motosport, and Footwear. The ideal candidate has a blend of data-driven discipline and commercial awareness, ensuring we have the right product in the right place at the right time. You will be the engine behind our forecast accuracy, inventory health, and seasonal reporting.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demand Forecasting & Seasonal Planning o Support and maintain SKU-level demand forecasts by blending historical sales data, market trends, and input from Senior Merchant, Sales team, and Marketing team. o Partner with the Senior Merchant to execute pre-season and in-season merchandise plans that align with category financial goals and margin targets. o Adapt forecasting models to account for the unique seasonalities of cycling, winter sports, motorsport, and footwear. • Inventory Management & Optimization o Monitor and contribute suggestions to balance stock levels to maximize customer fulfillment while minimizing excess inventory. o Provide substantiated buy recommendations and monitor SKU performance to maintain optimal weeks of coverage (WOC). o Support product lifecycle management, focusing on smooth transitions for new product introductions and end-of-life (EOL) strategies. • Data Analysis & Business Insights o Analyze and distribute ad-hoc, weekly, and monthly reports on sales performance, retailer order patterns, and inventory turnover. o Identify demand patterns and supply constraints proactively, providing "early warning" insights to the Merchandising and Supply Chain teams. o Align budget inputs to category or channel targets. o Generate ad-hoc reporting to support data-driven decision-making for the Director of Merchandising, Sales team members or others in the organization. • Cross-Functional Collaboration o Act as the analytical hub between Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure all departments are aligned on the "one version of the truth" forecast. o Collaborate with the IT department to improve planning tools, automate reporting, and enhance data visualization.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE

•

Experience:

2-4 years of experience in demand planning, merchandise planning, or supply chain analytics (preferably in the outdoor or action sports industry). •

Technical Skills:

Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling). Experience with ERP or dedicated planning software is a plus. •

Analytical Mindset:

Ability to distill complex data sets into clear, actionable narratives for the leadership team. •

Collaboration:

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with remote and local teams. •

Passion:

A genuine interest in the sports we serve—Bike, Winter, Moto, or Run.

(KPI'S): • Forecast Accuracy (FA%): Measured by the variance between planned demand and actual sales. •

Inventory Health:

Tracking Weeks of Coverage (WOC) and minimizing the Toxic Inventory Rate.

Margin Support:
