MERCHANDISING ASSOCIATE

This role owns the day-to-day operations of the SpaceX merchandise store, ensuring consistent execution of processes, accurate inventory management, strong customer service, and a high-quality retail experience for employees and visitors. The Merchandise Associate supports both routine store operations and merchandise needs for events and activations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Execute daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and maintaining a clean, organized, and presentation-ready retail environment

Manage inventory at the store level, including receiving shipments, stocking product, conducting cycle counts, organizing storage, and escalating discrepancies or shortages

Provide excellent customer service by assisting employees and visitors with product selection, answering questions, and processing sales accurately through the POS system

Maintain visual merchandising standards by restocking displays, rotating product, and executing planograms and brand-immersive setups

Support merchandise needs for company events, launches, activations, and special programs as assigned

Follow established processes and best practices to ensure consistent, efficient, and scalable store operations

Complete required reporting, including sales summaries, inventory updates, and maintenance or facilities requests

Partner with the Merchandise Store Manager and cross-functional teams to support new product drops, promotions, and continuous improvement initiatives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalency certificate

1+ years of experience in retail, merchandise, inventory, or customer-facing operations

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Prior experience in a branded retail or merchandise store environment

Hands-on experience with visual merchandising, planogram execution, product displays, and pop-up activations

Experience supporting events, activations, or pop-up retail

Familiarity with inventory receiving, cycle counting, and discrepancy resolution

Previous experience in a high-volume or high-traffic retail setting

Experience with POS systems and basic inventory management software

Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and launch/event days as needed

Must be able to work overtime

Ability to carry large, heavy items unassisted (up to 25lbs)

Must have the ability to stand for periods up to 8-12 hours a day
