Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented and creative individual with a passion for retail, e-commerce, and sports? The Sherman Shadowcats are seeking a dynamic Merchandise & E-Commerce Intern to join our team. This exciting internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the business operations of a professional sports team, contributing to our merchandise strategy and online fan experience. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inventory of existing merchandise stock, ensuring accurate records and organization. Analyze historical merchandise sales data (e.g., 2026 season) to identify trends, best-selling items, slow-moving products, and opportunities for growth. Assist in the research and development of new merchandise concepts and product lines for the upcoming 2027 season, considering fan preferences and market trends. Support the planning and execution of seasonal merchandise campaigns, including the holiday season, from concept to promotion. Assist with the day-to-day management and maintenance of the team's official online store, including product listings, inventory updates, and order fulfillment support. Research potential merchandise vendors, compare pricing, evaluate product quality, and assist in supplier relationship management. Contribute to strategies aimed at enhancing the online shopping experience and increasing e-commerce sales. Provide administrative support to the merchandise department as needed, including preparing reports and presentations. Qualifications Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, Fashion Merchandising, E-commerce, or a related field. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and identify actionable insights. Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, particularly in inventory management and data entry. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify) or inventory management systems is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Creative mindset with an understanding of retail trends and fan preferences. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A genuine passion for sports, retail, and providing an excellent fan experience.
