Job Description
Product Development & Merchandising Associate - Home Textiles We specialize in the development and supply of private-label and brand name home textiles for major national retailers and e-commerce sites. Our product categories include rugs, mats, textiles and other home décor products. We work closely with major retail customers to develop products that respond to consumer trends, retailer requirements, price points and market opportunities. We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, highly organized and commercially minded, Product Development & Merchandising Associate to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who wants hands-on exposure to the business of home textiles, retail merchandising, product development and private-label manufacturing. The Role You will work closely with our merchandising, product development, sales and sourcing teams and will be involved in taking products from an initial concept through development and ultimately to the retail marketplace. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: Researching home textiles, rug, color, pattern and lifestyle trends Monitoring major retailers and competitive products Assisting in developing new product concepts and collections Creating and maintaining product information and product presentations Assisting with samples, specifications, color selections and product revisions Working with overseas and domestic suppliers on product development Obtaining and analyzing product costs and pricing Supporting assortment planning and product selection Preparing presentations and materials for retail customers Maintaining product development timelines and tracking samples Communicating with suppliers and internal teams regarding development and production Supporting customer requests and retailer-specific requirements Analyzing sales, pricing and competitive information Assisting with line reviews and customer presentations Helping identify new product and category opportunities Supporting the team through the complete private-label product lifecycle The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, Supply Chain, Product Development, Textiles, Interior Design, Fashion Merchandising or a related field Strong interest in home textiles, retail and consumer products Excellent organizational and follow-through skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills Ability to analyze information and identify trends Strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Comfortable communicating with suppliers, customers and internal teams A positive, entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to learn Particularly Valuable Experience Candidates with experience or coursework in any of the following will be especially attractive: Home furnishings or home décor Rugs and textiles Merchandise planning Buying Product development Sourcing Private-label retail Retail analytics Supply chain Trend forecasting Interior design E-commerce merchandising Why Join Nedia Home?
