A Merchandiser assists with marketing or promoting merchandise in a retail store. Advises on trends and styles; designs and creates merchandise displays in a store, to generate or improve customer sales. Works with sales associates, merchandise managers and product vendors. Monitors customer preferences and sales data.
Amentum is seeking a Part time Store Attendant located in the Williamsburg area of Virginia. The Store Attendant will perform the resale of merchandise in a retail environment,
Job Requirements:
Move merchandise by use of non-motorized equipment that is intended for display and resale purposes Cleaning of merchandise on or in display fixtures Utilizing various merchandise techniques common to retail trade Merchandise may be displayed by a predetermined placement system using labels or other identifying marks. Maintain the display sales area by straightening merchandise to give a neat, full, and salable appearance Remove damaged or outdated merchandise Display merchandise in such a manner to maintain freshness and sale dates May determine display or sale requirements from existing inventory May be required to keep inventory forms of merchandise stocked and merchandise returned to storage May be required to affix labels to merchandise indicating sale price, item description, or other information May be required to offer customer or patron assistance with the location or selection of merchandise.
Minimum Requirements:
Must possess a active government issued clearance at time of application or be a base resident Must be a US citizen High school Diploma or GED Previous retail and/or sales experience a major plus Computer literate and comfortable using POS systems Thrives working in a fast-paced environment as part of a team Able to work long hours on one's feet, stand for an entire shift Available to work evenings Must be a fast learner and able to think quickly on one's feet Excellent customer service and strong interpersonal skills Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently Self-motivated and self-directed Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks Able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends Able to bend, move, and lift up to 25 pounds or more Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
