What they do
A Merchandising Manager manages the buying and stocking of goods to be re-sold to customers in a retail store, including clothing and other consumer products. Follows trends, anticipates consumer demand, directs buying and manages inventory; displays merchandise that will sell well at retail. Produces or monitors sales reports. May supervise a staff of buyers, in a larger retail store or department, or train and supervise retail sales staff.

- Champion understanding and development of
Market Landscape, Consumer/Customer Insights, and Brand Positioning:
Define for each Brand in the Portfolio the Market and Competitive Landscape, Brand Positioning, Customer and Consumer Value Proposition, Points of Differentiation, and Reasons to Believe.Lead Go-to-Market and Annual Business Planning:
Lead development of Brands 3-5 year strategy and annual GTM business plans (serve as single point of contact)Lead Brand Management and P&L Ownership:
Accountable delivery of top line P&L Revenue/Profitability and Market Share growth to the achievement of business objectives for the portfolio of Brands and products.Own Product Development and Lifecycle Management:
Define product specifications, performances, product launch strategies, and for market adoption and success via collaboration with sales, supply chain, and purchasing.Transverse Leadership and Accountability:
Lead high-capacity transverse responsibility for key progress area / projects on behalf of the entire Marketing Team and DepartmentDrive Process Improvement:
Identify and lead process improvements to ensure gold standard repeatability for executional success Additional Job Responsibilities Operational Marketing Management and Business DeliveryBusiness Recovery, Diagnostic, and Steering:
Lead and develop Marketing initiatives with Sales, Supply Chain, and Purchasing. Track monthly progress towards annual plan and objectives. Put in place and execute corrective action plans to resolve gaps to top line revenue plan or brand share of market loss.- Product launches: Lead and partner with Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure seamless product launches of new products within the portfolio.
Category SKU Management & Maintenance:
Lead and own the portfolio of Brands and their related skus from launch, adoption, maturity and phase out/obsolescence to include: warehouse / network placement, sales distribution access, inventory management, pricing and promotion.Demand Planning & Supply Chain:
As Brand Champion, collaborate with Sales and Supply Chain in the development and validation of the brand demand forecast inputs, opportunities and risks, S&OP process, and Financial Planning Continued Responsibilities Marketing Mix ManagementPricing Strategy:
Lead the development of the Brand Portfolio Pricing strategy and targets, competitive set, value points of parity / difference and provide guidance to Pricing teams.Communication Strategy:
Lead the development of the annual communication plan, brand and product specific communication strategy, and customer specific communications. Lead brief development and execution of commercial programs in partnership with in-house marketing communication teams and creative agenciesPromotional Strategy:
Define the promotional calendar, offer, and execution supports. Partner with in-house marketing communication teams and creative agencies to deliver.Distribution Strategy & Product Placement:
Define channel / key customer targets and Brand access strategy for portfolio of brands and product. Actively collaborate and coordinate with sales to support successful customer adoption and success.Sales Enablement & Execution Support:
Partner with Sales and Supply Chain to effectively develop marketing initiatives and communication plans in line with brand and wholesale marketing strategy- Other duties as assigned. Qualifications style="margin-bottom:13.0px
- -Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, supply chain, finance or related field. MBA preferred
- 5+ years in sales, merchandising, marketing or supply chain with proven Category Management, retail merchandising or related role experience
- Tire industry or related experience a plus
- Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth, optimizing product assortments, and enhancing customer satisfaction
- Demonstrated ability to use data to develop actionable insight and diagnose areas of concern
- Experience with data analytics/visualization tools (Qlik, PowerBI and/or Alteryx) a plus
- Ability to communicate complex analysis to key stakeholders including C-Suite.
- Outstanding strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, set and meet project timelines.
