A Merchandising Manager manages the buying and stocking of goods to be re-sold to customers in a retail store, including clothing and other consumer products. Follows trends, anticipates consumer demand, directs buying and manages inventory; displays merchandise that will sell well at retail. Produces or monitors sales reports. May supervise a staff of buyers, in a larger retail store or department, or train and supervise retail sales staff.

- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive category/brand strategies that align with business goals, drive growth, and support sales and customer needs
- Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for assortment optimization and market expansion
- Oversee the planning and management of the product assortment for assigned category/brands. Ensure a well-balanced mix of products that cater to customer preferences and align with market trends
- Develop and execute category road map for specific business channel (5 year for TBC Brands) including product, price, promotion and placement
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Lead negotiations in conjunction with TBC Purchasing staff to secure favorable terms, product availability, support/special programs, and facilitate required supplier collaboration on new product introductions, proactive life cycle management, and drive product innovation
- Develop and implement effective programs and promotional campaigns that maximize revenue and profitability. Monitor program trends, competitive offerings, and customer responses to inform program decisions
- Lead and provide category management (assortment and promotional) solutions to key customers
- Analyze and manage screen indexing to market and understand future trending at the segment and size level
- Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and recommendations for category performance enhancements. Analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer behavior to identify growth opportunities and optimize strategies
- Key role participating and influencing in the development of the assigned category/brand planning and forecasting of products
- Ensure proper coverage and efficiency of tires through regular reviews of on hand inventory, sales velocity, and manufacturer lead times
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, inventory management, demand planning, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of category strategies. Work together on inventory management, demand planning, and promotional initiatives
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to category analysts to drive a high-performing and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation, growth and continuous improvement
- Define and track key performance indicators to measure category/brand performance, including sales, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. Regularly assess results and adjust strategies as needed
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging customer preferences. Use insights to make strategic decisions and actionable recommendations
- Anticipate and address potential risks that could impact category/brand performance, such as supply chain disruptions, changing market dynamics, and regulatory changes
- Support Product Development Director in the development of business analytics for new product introductions. Leverage market trends, customer insights and data to validate business choices and support innovation roadmap

- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, supply chain, finance or related field
- 5-7 years in sales, merchandising, marketing or supply chain. Experience in Category Management a plus
- Automotive/Tire industry or related experience a plus
- Solid understanding of the OE tire market is a plus
- Competence in leading and managing medium-sized change initiatives. Ability to assess the impact of changes on individuals, teams and the organization. Capable of addressing concerns and resolving resistance . Skilled at coaching and mentoring individuals and teams through the change process
- Excels at analyzing complex situations, weighing multiple varialbles and predicting outcomes. Makes informed decisions that align with organizational goals and strategies. Mentors others in decision-making and fosters a culture of sound judgement
- Manages the delivery of the project cross-functionally (internal or external), using complex project management processes. Develops detailed work plans for each phase of project activities that identify task dependencies, resource requirements and a phase timeline
- Keen ability to motivate and influence both internal and external stakeholders, processes and results through the application of leadership, influence, expertise and persuasive communication. Contributes to the professional development of others, makes an impact on people
- Understands communication style make influence work and relationships. Uses good judgement to communicate appropriately. Proactively works to adjust style based on audience and points of emphasis
- High degree of competency and expertise in handling, analyzing, and extracting valuable insights from various types of data. Possesses a deep understanding of data manipulation, statistical analysis, data visualization, and the utilization of advanced analytical tools and techniques
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with data analytics/visualization tools (Qlik, PowerBI and/or Alteryx) a plus
- Profound understanding of productivity patterns and advanced techniques to maximize efficiency. Consistently achieve their goals, maintain a healthy work-life balance and inspire those around them
