Full Job Description Position Description:
Chicagoland's premier design/build renovation company, Airoom, is seeking an experienced product merchandiser with 10+ years of experience managing daily showroom and selection center operations, product vignettes and displays, product line ups, SKU and trend analysis, manufacturer relationships; and onsite and offsite training programs for internal design, sales, and production staff. The ideal individual will be highly motivated, creative, and forward-thinking with a passion for design, sales, and customer service. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Works with senior management on executing showroom expansion strategy, helps refine and lead our showrooms, displays, and product line ups for better growth and scaling of the business. Assists with a variety of merchandising responsibilities including overseeing daily showroom operations, managing inventory, managing the designing of new vignettes, and product displays, and maintaining the showroom product line ups and messaging. Meets regularly with in-house staff of designers and specifiers to discuss design concepts and material options; ensuring that we are on trend. Educates in-house design, sales, and production teams about the products we utilize and sell in our design build projects and establishes ongoing monthly training programs and schedules that educate the staff and keep them current. Communicates with vendors regarding sales trends, product line ups and display as needed. Uses an understanding of color coordination, visual balance, and interior design to develop attractive and innovative displays to maintain the showroom to the highest standard. Ensures that all materials are displayed properly and are available when needed. Creates a merchandising plan to promote new products or services in the showroom. Analyzes sales for materials, brands and SKUs being used; generating revenue volume, profits, and unit counts to create future strategic decisions on vendor partnerships and product lines to sell and support. Recommends and implements modifications in showroom selection centers, products being shown and evaluates new showroom opportunities to increase sales and eliminate wasted space and redundancy in brands and products. Prepares monthly reports detailing product purchases against displays and vignettes for sales performance against targets. Reduces inefficient products and samples being represented through data driven analysis and decision making.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required. 10+ years of retail or showroom merchandising management and/or sales experience, preferably in the luxury home industry, custom home building products, luxury home furnishing, interior design and/or remodeling industry. Hands-on experience with pricing and product information systems, scanning and tracking for future floor planning, merchandising, forecasting, and management decisions on dedicated display space allocation. Marketing background with experience in establishing co-op advertising programs, consumer message and creating experiential environments, and any experience in managing showroom events is a plus. Strong knowledge of MS Office and various customer relationship management (CRM) software. Strong understanding of data analysis principles and excel spreadsheets and tracking analysis. Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
