A Merchandising Manager manages the buying and stocking of goods to be re-sold to customers in a retail store, including clothing and other consumer products. Follows trends, anticipates consumer demand, directs buying and manages inventory; displays merchandise that will sell well at retail. Produces or monitors sales reports. May supervise a staff of buyers, in a larger retail store or department, or train and supervise retail sales staff.

Job Description
Primary responsibilities include:
Maintaining centralized, efficient control over merchandising activity to ensure that Merchandising function is coordinated across all sales avenues Lead event-driven product and offer development by utilizing team's long-term calendar Establishing objectives and evaluating performance of merchandising staff, and creating annual plans and goals to support departmental and company objectives Developing company-exclusive products and leading the new product development process Thoroughly reviewing, analyzing and recommending use for current inventory, and optimally matching items in inventory with an avenue of sale Developing value-added packaging and content for new and existing offers Evaluating processes and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness Working to influence product plans and developing value-added complimentary products Qualified applicant will have: 4-year college degree or equivalent 3-5 years experience in product development, planning and forecasting, merchandising and inventory management Minimum 2 years managing and coaching employees Proven planning and management skills Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and coaching skills Both short- and long-range thinking skills Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel spreadsheet applications Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
