Manager, Sales & Merchandising Company Overview:

We are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality plants and remaining up to date with the latest garden trends.
Job Summary:
The Sales & Merchandising manager will oversee garden center location merchandising staff and activities to ensure execution of displays and inventory rotation are kept up to company standard. This role will support the south carolina area. Duties/Responsibilities
  • Oversees staff and fulfills staffing needs for regular hours, special events or high-traffic times.
  • Maintains and motivates a positive sales team through communication, incentives, and evaluations.
  • Addresses customer needs and resolves issues, ensuring positive and long-term customer relationships.
  • Ensures inventory data is correct by performing spot inventory counts and checks.
  • Uses company software to research, analyze, and track purchases.
  • Ensures that the garden center areas always look clean and inviting.
  • Assists team with placing and rotating merchandise to attract positive attention from customers.
  • Travel to and visit all assigned stores weekly.
  • Responsible for all orders sent from the farm to be delivered and executed in their specific stores and regions.
  • Ensure their merchandising team is rerouted based on product deliveries and business needs.
  • Work with store manager and personnel to execute strategy
  • Attend calls as needed.
  • Works with HR to attract top talent such as attending interviews and completing pre-hiring paperwork for new hires.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality Basic knowledge of plants, gardening, or landscaping Basic merchandising skills Valid driver's license Must be able to travel to stores assigned Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Background check.
Must have reliable transportation
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minium of three years of sales experience
  • Minium of three years of merchandising experience
  • Minium of two years working with plants
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods standing, walking, stretching, bending, kneeling and pulling.
  • Must be able to work in the hot humid weather for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to pull, carry and lift 5 pounds or more at a time up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to drive.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
