About us Commonwealth Brewing Company is a 10 year old craft brewery located in a renovated historic Fire and Rescue Station in the tight knit coastal community of Chic's Beach in Virginia Beach, VA and in Fairfax VA and we are hiring an Events and Merchandise Manager to conceptualize, plan and execute all internal and external brewery events, develop and maintain merchandise inventory and develop canva/adobe photoshop content for marketing purposes. This position has the unique opportunity to express creativity, design and shape marketing and events to enhance the public experience and grow our brand and sales in the community. The events management responsibilities includes comprehensive scheduling and execution of private events, monthly brewery special events, and Commonwealth sponsored offsite and onsite festivals/markets. The ideal candidate will demonstrate event conceptualization creativity, have demonstrable marketing content development skills, strong vendor relationships adn coordination skills, and be detail oriented and scheduled. The position is full time and offers a competitive annual salary, performance metric based quarterly bonus, medical benefits and vacation and sick leave. A list of specific job responsibilities are below.
Responsibilities:
Media Content Development Creating the social media posters for public events Managing company website and maintaining events calendar on site. Supporting social media by monitoring social sites and providing customer feedback and responding to questions. Managing the overall online presence including Google Business profile and hours, SEO, etc. Managing the website including updating hours, new events, merchandise, beer archive, etc. Ensuring brand cohesion throughout all of the above Managing the info@ email account and distributing emails to appropriate departments Creating digital and print ads, signage, and other assets as needed Creating and distributing newsletters for all beer releases and public events Creating and maintaining relationships with musicians, artists, vendors, food vendors, breweries, etc. Obtaining approval for and fulfilling donation requests Manage and grow the annual Locals Only Beer Club membership drive.
PUBLIC EVENTS
Planning new event concepts as well as improving upon successful previous events Commissioning local artists to create collaborative marketing materials for all events Creating P&L's for all events for YOY data analysis Planning beer releases, food specials, limited edition merchandise, sales bundles, etc. for events Obtaining and ensuring compliance with VA ABC and VB City event permits Planning and executing the off-site Liquid Arts and Common Grounds Festival including all of the above and coordinating with participating breweries, distributors, sponsors, etc.
PRIVATE EVENTS
Managing private event inquiries via phone and email Creating contracts and processing payments for private events Communicating event information in advance to the bar and kitchen staff
MERCHANDISE MANAGEMENT
Collaboratively conceptualizing and creating new merchandise Sourcing manufacturers, ordering, and receiving inventory Restocking merchandise and refreshing displays Fulfilling online merchandise shipping orders Processing online order refunds Providing a month-end inventory for MOM analysis
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain communication with the owner for marketing, merchandise, and events concepts and approvals Maintain communication with Operations Manager, Production Manager, Tasting Room Manager, and Kitchen Manager to ensure all upcoming needs are planned for and synchronized
