Technical Aircraft Parts Specialist SourceCo - Birmingham, Alabama On-Site | Full-Time Position Summary SourceCo is looking for an experienced aircraft professional who wants to use their technical knowledge in a different way. This role will support our Birmingham operation with aircraft parts identification, inventory, shipping and aircraft dismantlement projects. Most days will involve locating and pulling parts, researching part numbers and interchangeability, managing inventory and supporting the Sales team. When an aircraft is being dismantled, this person will also work hands-on with the aircraft and help coordinate subcontractors on site. Initially, this will be a very independent role, so we need someone who is comfortable wearing several hats and jumping in wherever needed. Responsibilities Identify and remove aircraft parts during dismantlement projects. Read and interpret aircraft IPCs and other technical documentation. Research part numbers, applicability and interchangeability. Identify and properly segregate components and subassemblies. Locate, pull, stock and organize aircraft parts and inventory. Prepare parts for shipment and assist with shipping and receiving. Maintain accurate inventory and part identification. Support the Sales team with technical part research and customer needs. Coordinate and oversee subcontractors during on-site dismantlement projects as needed. Support other SourceCo and affiliated-company projects as needed. Qualifications FAA Airframe certificate required; A&P preferred. Hands-on aircraft maintenance, teardown/dismantlement or related experience. Strong aircraft parts identification and IPC research skills. Understanding of aircraft part numbers, effectivity and interchangeability. Able and willing to physically remove, handle and move aircraft parts. Comfortable working independently with limited day-to-day supervision. Organized, resourceful and willing to handle both technical and inventory/warehouse work. Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory systems. Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally as needed.
