Initially will lead the establishment and ramp-up of engineering at a large, high-volume, cutting-edge automotive manufacturing operation. As a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also: Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion Collaborate with Japanese team members from Mazda and Toyota Work cross-functionally with manufacturing/conveyance Team Members to ensure on-time delivery of parts to production Monitor and evaluate supplier performance from the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Japan Daily monitoring of component parts flow and adjusting inventory levels to achieve appropriate inventory levels on the Shop floor, identifying and acting on abnormalities within the supply chain Crisis management and coordination with all internal and external supply chain stakeholders Lead problem solving efforts to countermeasure and mitigate impact of abnormal supply chain conditions Support new model launches and shutdown coordination activities Contribute to and support annual business plans and strategies to support Mazda Toyota Manufacturing priorities Support change point management activities impacting production and production systems Ability to work and travel outside of typical business hours when needed (domestically and internationally) What You Bring Bachelor's Degree (or Higher) in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Business Management, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related manufacturing bachelor's degrees, or equivalent work experience Mathematical skill, which may include a college Major or Minor in Mathematics Cross-functional problem-solving skills and experience Experience coordinating, presenting, or leading decision-making meetings Strong Microsoft office skills, specifically Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and PowerBi Ability to work up to 20 hours overtime during peak times, including weekend/holiday work Flexibility to work 2nd shift and or rotating shift pattern What Will Set You Apart Bilingual English/Spanish Experience working directly with suppliers for supplier performance management Toyota Parts Ordering experience within a high-volume production environment Operational knowledge of eKanban ordering system Vehicle manufacturing experience within a Body Weld, Paint, Assembly shop, or suppliers Functional project management skills in a large-scale manufacturing environment Developing project strategies, problem-solving and countermeasures What We Offer At Mazda Toyota Manufacturing USA Inc., we offer the opportunity to end each day with a smile and a sense of pride in the work that you do.
