Southern Pipe & Supply Co., Inc. Counter Sales Job Description Position Summary
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide customers with extraordinary service, "Service Plus…+" at all times
- Answers questions and advises customer in selection of Plumbing & HVAC Supplies
- Handle telephone inquires and order placements by customers
- Enter customer orders into computer system
- Locate and identify part numbers
- Assemble, pack and ship customer orders
- Load customer purchases into customer's vehicle or setup for SPS delivery
- Quote individual prices and develop job quotes for customers
- Enter warehouse transfers and purchase orders into computer
- Track and keep customers apprised of special orders
- Develop and implement yearly sales action plan (target customer)
- Make coffee and maintain sanitary conditions in the coffee service area
- Maintain sales counter area in a clean and orderly fashion at all times
- Maintain sales counter display boards and shelve areas in a clean, well merchandised appearance at all times
- Comprehend hazardous material warning labels and instructions
- Safely operate a lift truck according to OSHA Regulations
- Deliver of material in an SPS delivery vehicle
- Any additional functions assigned by local Branch Manager or Supervisor
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Under general direction, assist in any special projects
- Perform other duties and assignments as designated by Branch Manager
