Job Description
Tri-Mega Mechanical is seeking an organized, motivated team member to join our commercial HVAC service department. This position plays a critical role in supporting our technicians, estimators, and customers by preparing repair estimates, sourcing parts, and coordinating material procurement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with commercial HVAC knowledge who enjoys both technical estimating and keeping projects moving efficiently. Must have clean driving record in order to be approved by our insurance. Responsibilities Prepare repair estimates from technician notes and recommendations Research HVAC equipment and identify correct replacement parts Obtain pricing and availability from suppliers and manufacturers Order parts and track deliveries to ensure timely repairs Coordinate with technicians regarding parts needed for service calls Communicate with vendors regarding warranties, lead times, and technical information Review work orders to ensure all necessary information has been provided Maintain accurate records of quotes, purchase orders, and parts status Assist customers with estimate questions when needed Work closely with the Service Manager and estimators to prioritize workload Preferred Qualifications Experience in commercial HVAC service Ability to read equipment model and serial numbers Knowledge of HVAC components including compressors, motors, contactors, VFDs, controls, coils, and refrigeration components Experience using manufacturer parts lookups Strong computer skills Excellent organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and customer service skills Clean driving record Preferred Experience Commercial HVAC service technician experience HVAC estimating experience Parts procurement or purchasing experience Experience with service management software (BuildOps experience is a plus) Experience working with HVAC distributors and manufacturers What You'll Be Doing This position is approximately: 50% HVAC estimating Building repair quotes Reviewing technician recommendations Preparing customer proposals 50% Parts procurement Sourcing and ordering HVAC parts Coordinating deliveries Working with vendors and manufacturers Supporting technicians in the field Looking for a new challenge? This position is ideal for an experienced HVAC technician who wants to transition into an office role while continuing to use their technical knowledge. If you've spent years diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC equipment and are looking for a long-term career with less wear and tear on your body, we'd love to talk with you. Commercial HVAC field experience is highly preferred. We are willing to train the estimating and procurement side for the right candidate with strong service experience.
