Job Description
About Us Johnnies Appliances is a two-location appliance retailer serving all of Los Angeles County and Orange County — new and scratch & dent appliance sales, factory-authorized repair service, commercial laundry leasing, and appliance rentals. We're an authorized dealer and servicer for Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, GE, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire, Speed Queen, and more. Our customers and business partners are bilingual, and our parts counter keeps both our service technicians and our walk-in customers moving. The Role We're looking for a sharp, organized Parts Specialist to run parts lookup, quoting, ordering, and receiving out of our Signal Hill store. You'll be the go-to person who finds the right part the first time, gets quotes back to our property management partners and cash customers fast, and keeps our parts area stocked and accurate. If you like solving puzzles (there are a lot of model and part numbers in this business), take pride in a tidy, well-run operation, and enjoy helping people get their appliances working again, this is a great fit. What You'll Do Parts Lookup & Quoting
- Look up correct part numbers and cross-references across all our authorized brands using model and serial numbers — accuracy matters, because a wrong part number means a wrong part ordered.
- Prepare and send parts quotes to our property management partners and cash customers, with clear pricing and realistic availability timelines.
- Serve walk-in parts customers at the counter and help technicians confirm they have the right parts before they head out on a job. Ordering & Receiving
- Order parts for service repairs, customer special orders, and stock replenishment through our vendors and distributors.
- Receive incoming parts, check them against the order, and put them away in the right bin so anyone can find them fast.
- Track backorders and keep the service team and customers updated on status and ETAs.
- Process parts returns and warranty claims with manufacturers, and keep the records clean in our system (Whirlwind). Property Management & Customer Response
- Respond to emails from our property management partners quickly — fast turnaround on quotes and part status is a big part of why they choose us. Same-day responses are the standard.
- Keep communication professional and clear, whether it's a PM partner, a cash customer, or a vendor. Keeping the Parts Area Organized
- Maintain the parts area (Zone E): labeled bins, frequently used parts within easy reach, and locations logged in the system so any part can be found in under two minutes.
- Help keep inventory counts accurate with regular cycle counts. Must Have
- Strong attention to detail — you double-check model and part numbers and don't guess.
- Organized and self-directed — you can run a daily task list and keep a parts area tidy without being chased.
- Comfortable on a computer: email, order entry, and looking things up online. We'll train you on our systems.
- Good, professional communication in writing and in person — you'll email PM partners and help customers face to face every day.
- Reliable and punctual, with a valid driver's license and dependable transportation. Nice to Have
- Bilingual English/Spanish — a strong plus, since many of our customers and partners speak Spanish.
- Previous experience in appliance parts, auto parts, HVAC parts, a parts counter, or a service department.
- Familiarity with appliance brands and model/part number lookups.
- Experience with inventory or point-of-sale software (we use Whirlwind — we'll train you).
