Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Scrap Yard Parts Salesman/Labor to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing the sale of automotive scrap parts, assisting with inventory organization, and providing exceptional customer service to clients. The successful candidate will play a vital part in optimizing parts sales, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting overall yard operations. This position offers an engaging environment for individuals passionate about automotive parts and retail sales, with opportunities to develop technical knowledge and sales expertise. Duties Engage with customers to identify their automotive parts needs and provide expert advice on scrap yard inventory. Conduct automotive diagnostics and mechanical troubleshooting to accurately identify usable parts. Negotiate prices and terms with customers to maximize sales while ensuring customer satisfaction. Manage inventory control by stocking, organizing, and cataloging scrap parts efficiently. Utilize dealership experience and automotive repair knowledge to assess part condition and value. Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for transactions, cash handling, and receipt issuance. Maintain accurate records of sales transactions using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and inventory management software like CMMS. Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks as needed, including basic mechanical work or cleaning. Build strong customer relationships through effective communication, phone etiquette, and personalized service. Support marketing efforts by promoting available parts and services to potential clients. Ensure safety protocols are followed during yard operations and labor tasks. Qualifications Proven sales management experience within automotive parts or scrap yard environments. Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, automotive diagnostics, and repair procedures. Familiarity with inventory management systems (CMMS), POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages is a plus; bilingual abilities are highly desirable. Knowledge of automotive parts management, retail math, order fulfillment, and stock control practices. Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting and vehicle maintenance tasks confidently. Experience working in dealership settings or automotive repair shops is preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and record keeping. Customer service-oriented mindset with excellent negotiation skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
