QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED equivalency is required and automotive technical school training is preferred; and four (4) years experience in the automotive repair or a related industry is required; or any equivalent combination of experience to coordinate and monitor the ordering, receiving, and distribution of parts and supplies, including researching costs, requisitioned by instructors; Supervise students assigned to assist in the distribution of tools, parts, and supplies; Maintain inventory records, including but not limited to, ordering parts, supplies, and payments; Distribute bills, collect payments, and maintain appropriate records for parts and supply orders; Maintain daily interaction and communication with staff, students, administration, and the public; Knowledge of methods, techniques, equipment, and objectives used in inventory management, including but not limited to maintaining inventory database, parts and ordering supplies, receipt, distribution, and accounting; Tools, equipment, supplies, and related items required for the support and operation of auto repair, collision repair, and welding instructional programs; Operate standard office equipment, including a personal computer and job-related software applications; such as Word, Excel, or others; Operation of computer programs and applications used in parts and supplies management and accounting practices; Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with District policies, procedures, and safety practices Sufficient personal mobility, flexibility, and balance, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to work in an office and automotive shop environment, lifting or moving objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Tool Room Monitor coordinates and maintains the inventory of tools, parts, and supplies to support the auto technology, collision repair for vehicle maintenance and welding instruction programs. Duties include researching costs and ordering parts requisitioned by instructors and supervising assigned student assistants.
