Job Description
Description The Parts Clerk is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Department by maintaining an organized and accurate parts inventory and ensuring Maintenance team members have access to the parts and supplies needed to support plant operations. This position is responsible for receiving, stocking, issuing, and tracking maintenance parts; maintaining accurate inventory records; organizing the parts room; and assisting with parts orders and returns. The Parts Clerk will work closely with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Planner, technicians, and other team members to ensure parts are available when needed and inventory records remain accurate. Role and Responsibilities Receive, inspect, label, and stock incoming maintenance parts and supplies. Issue parts from the parts room to Maintenance Technicians and accurately document parts used for equipment and work orders. Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient parts room. Maintain accurate parts and inventory information within the company's maintenance and inventory systems. Perform routine inventory counts and assist with monthly parts room inventory checks. Monitor inventory levels and assist with maintaining appropriate minimum and maximum stocking levels. Identify and document critical spare parts. Assist with obtaining quotes and ordering maintenance parts and supplies as needed. Assist with creating purchase orders for approved parts and service orders. Receive and verify parts orders against purchase orders and packing slips. Manage parts returns, exchanges, and warranty items as needed. Assist with researching part numbers, locating replacement parts, and identifying appropriate parts for Maintenance needs. Maintain accurate part descriptions, part numbers, storage locations, and other inventory information. Communicate parts shortages, backorders, discrepancies, or other inventory concerns to Maintenance leadership. Support Maintenance Technicians and the Maintenance Planner with parts availability and inventory needs. Assist with coding and processing invoices related to Maintenance parts and purchase orders, as needed. Follow established inventory control and parts room procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Requirements Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working in a parts room, storeroom, warehouse, inventory, maintenance, or manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with inventory control and parts management preferred. Familiarity with SAP or other
