Good Fit:
1 year + experience in an automotive parts department preferred-not required Team Player Professional personal appearance. Able to work in a fast-paced busy environment Valid Driving License with acceptable driving record Attention to detail with a high level of customer service Strong and professional verbal and written communication skills Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information as well as technical diagrams. Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle multiple tasks while maintaining a courteous and friendly attitude.
Duties:
Greeting customers promptly and courteously, handling customer requests professionally and making sure of proper parts selection, promoting additional parts sales by suggesting related items and seasonal lines. Tag and maintain inventory of warranty parts for return or scrap; arrange for parts to be shipped to the factory or distributor, when necessary, prepare and ship core returns to the manufacturer; complete core return paperwork Prepare invoices for over-the-counter sales; issue credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified Pick up and/or deliver parts as needed and requested by a member of parts or service management. Keep current on new products and product updates. Complete ongoing training as specified by trainer/manager. Handles customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refers dissatisfied customers to appropriate individual for resolution. Works as a team to ensure the satisfaction of all customers
QUALIFICATIONS
A successful Parts Associate needs the product knowledge, professionalism, and empathy that customers look for today. Communication is extremely important in a parts department as it contributes to team building within the team and the part department High school diploma or the equivalent. Excellent communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information as well as technical diagrams. Computer background and typing skills required. One year of experience in an automotive parts department. One year of sales experience. Ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time. Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle multiple tasks while maintaining a courteous and friendly attitude. Professional personal appearance.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, bend or reach for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend and lift up to 50lbs.
