Job Description

R&R Fire Truck Repair, Inc., founded in 1992 in Northville, Michigan, is a family owned company that specializes in licensed and insured inspection, service, and repair of public and private firefighting apparatus. We are seeking an experienced and dependable Parts Counterperson to join our heavy-duty truck parts team. This position is responsible for assisting customers, technicians, and service personnel with identifying, sourcing, and ordering parts for heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and sell heavy-duty truck and trailer parts using part numbers, catalogs, electronic parts systems, and vehicle information. Assist customers and technicians in selecting the correct replacement parts and components. Look up parts using VINs, make/model information, axle, engine, transmission, and other component numbers. Research OEM, aftermarket, and replacement parts and provide accurate cross-references. Process parts orders, special orders, returns, and warranty-related parts. Contact vendors and suppliers to locate hard-to-find parts and verify availability and pricing. Maintain accurate inventory and assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing parts. Communicate with technicians and service personnel to ensure parts are available when needed. Provide professional customer service to fleet customers, repair shops, owner-operators, and walk-in customers. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts department.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in heavy-duty truck, commercial vehicle, automotive, or equipment parts . Knowledge of heavy-duty truck components such as brakes, air systems, suspension, steering, electrical, cooling, HVAC, drivetrain, and exhaust systems. Ability to read and understand part numbers, catalogs, diagrams, and specifications. Experience with parts cross-referencing and sourcing. Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Strong customer-service skills and a willingness to learn.
Ideal Candidate:
Someone who understands that finding the right part the first time is critical. Heavy-duty truck parts experience is strongly preferred, but candidates with strong automotive or equipment parts experience and the ability to learn heavy-duty applications will also be considered.
Pay:
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour
