About us A parts assistant in a car dealership supports the parts manager by organizing inventory, processing orders, and helping service technicians and retail customers find the exact vehicle components they need. They are responsible for managing stock levels and ensuring the service department runs smoothly.
Responsibilities:
As a Parts Advisor you will be responsible for providing vehicle parts and merchandise to customers while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Answer incoming customer calls pertaining to parts orders
  • Greet customers & vendors in a friendly and professional manner
  • Write up parts tickets needed for the service department
  • Interact with the Service Team to coordinate parts for vehicle repair and service
  • Order parts from suppliers based on Service Department and customer requests
  • Fulfilling online and phone parts tickets
  • Converse effectively/efficiently regarding customer parts status
  • Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up and speaking to specific parts
  • Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
  • Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order, if necessary.
  • Make sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order
  • DMS system and excel computer skills within the parts department
  • Maintain clean and professional appearance of counter, work area, and stockroom.
  • Receive, unpack, and store parts in appropriate storage areas so they are readily available when needed.
  • Takes inventory, maintain records of goods received and keeps perpetual inventory controls.
  • Receive payment or obtain credit authorization
  • Process core returns, parts warranties and parts return's as necessary.
